A BRIEF LOOK AT MOSCOW, NOVEMBER 23, 2018

Story and photos by member Edward M. Koehler Jr.

L&WV Chapter members gathered at the Moscow station on “Black Friday,” November 23, 2018 to assist Santa Claus with the travelers on two excursion trains  operated from Steamtown.  The train consisted of  two classic EMD F3’s repainted in Delaware, Lackawanna and Western colorsp; an unheated baggage-coach combine from the Central Railroad of New Jersey; and the three converted DL&W multiple unit cars that now have propane heating.

The two trains were sold out as were the two operated the following day (Saturday) and the one on Sunday.  Each of these trains were met by Santa Claus – who had temporarily moved the North Pole to the Moscow Freight House for the weekend – and Chapter members who offered crafts and sold snacks and gifts to the excursionists; all for the benefit of raising funds for the restoration of Boston and Maine #3713 (Project3713.com)
